Located in the northwest corner of the Iberian Peninsula, Galicia’s privileged geographical location, with more than 1,500 km of coastline, makes it an ideal location for the naval industry. Overall, naval activity in Galicia employs more than 8,0000 people, representing a turnover of 800 million euros in 2021.

We have a naval industry that offers a wide range of services for the shipbuilding and repair, located mainly in the estuaries of Vigo, Pontevedra and Ferrol.

In these locations, the geographical characteristics of the Ría of Vigo stand out for their draughts, shelter and protection conditions, and the Ría of Ferrol hosts the facilities of the public shipyards of Navantia. In all of them, there is presence of numerous private shipyards and auxiliary industry, making up a highly competitive business ecosystems recognized at an international level.
